The Aomori Museum of Art is a modern art museum located in Aomori City

adjacent to the Sannai Maruyama Jomon Archaeological Site. Opened in 2006, the museum showcases a diverse collection of artworks inspired by the region’s rich artistic heritage and natural beauty. The building’s unique design, influenced by archaeological excavation sites, creates an immersive experience for visitors. Highlights include works by Marc Chagall, Munakata Shiko, and Yoshitomo Nara, including the famous Aomori-Ken Dog sculpture.
