四季で姿を変える“日本三名瀑”凍る滝と紅葉の競演が訪れる

茨城県を代表する観光スポットのひとつ。日本三名瀑で高さ120m、幅73mの迫力ある袋田の滝。滝の流れが大岩壁を四段に落下し「四度(よど)の滝｣とも呼ばれています。西行法師がこの地を訪れた際に「この滝は四季に一度ずつ来てみなければ真の風趣は味わえない」と伝えた。

「四度の滝」と呼ばれる袋田の滝は、季節ごとに違った表情を見せる圧倒的な自然のアート。春は新緑、夏は涼、秋は紅葉、冬は氷瀑。いつ訪れても感動が待っていて、写真だけでは伝えきれない美しさです。

The waterfall falls in four tiers down a large rock face, and is also known as Yodo Falls. When Saigyo Hoshi visited the area, he said, “You can’t truly appreciate this waterfall unless you come here once in each of the four seasons.”

Fukuroda Falls, also known as the “Four-time Falls,” is an overwhelming work of nature that shows different faces with each season. Fresh greenery in spring, coolness in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and frozen waterfalls in winter. No matter when you visit, you’ll be impressed, and its beauty cannot be conveyed through photos alone.
