八幡平は岩手・秋田にまたがる広大な高原地帯で、秋になると山腹から麓まで紅葉が広がります。アスピーテラインのドライブは絶景続きで、松川渓谷や八幡沼など見どころも豊富。登山者には縦走路や湿原散策が人気で、温泉地も点在。混雑も比較的少なく、静かに紅葉を楽しめる穴場的存在。秋の東北を満喫するなら外せない名所です。

Hachimantai is a vast plateau region spanning Iwate and Akita, and in autumn, autumn leaves spread from the mountainside to the foot of the mountain. The drive along the Aspite Line offers a series of spectacular views, with plenty of sights to see, including Matsukawa Valley and Hachimantai Marsh. Hikers love the traverse trails and marshland walks, and there are also hot springs scattered throughout the area. It’s a hidden gem with relatively few crowds, allowing you to enjoy the autumn leaves in peace. It’s a must-see spot if you want to fully enjoy autumn in Tohoku.
