Mount Kakuda, towering over Nishikan Ward in Niigata City, is a great spot for viewing autumn leaves, even for beginner hikers. From the summit, you can see the Echigo Plain and the Sea of Japan, and on clear autumn days, the scenery is spectacular. The autumn foliage tunnel on the mountain trail is an impressive experience, with the colors changing with each step.
