静寂に包まれた神社「こんぴらさん」

越前金刀比羅山宮は、標高240mの幡ケ山山頂にある神社で、「こんぴらさん」として親しまれています。約600年前の南北朝時代に奉鎮され、海上安全・家内安全・交通安全・商売繁盛などのご利益があります。参道には一の鳥居や御神水があり、坂道と階段を300mほど登ると本殿に到着します。山頂は大きな樹々に覆われ、眺望はありませんが、厳かな雰囲気が漂います。狛犬には波模様とウサギが描かれ、珍しいデザインです。冬は参拝客が少なく、境内はやや荒れた印象でした。改装中の可能性もあり、訪問時の状況確認が必要です。静寂に包まれた神社で、歴史と自然の力を感じることができます。

Kotohira Shrine, also known as Kotohira-gū or Kompira Shrine, is a famous Shinto shrine located in Kotohira, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is dedicated to Ōmononushi, the deity associated with seafaring and protection for sailors. The shrine is situated on Mount Zōzu, requiring visitors to climb 785 stone steps to reach the main shrine and 1,368 steps to the inner shrine. Historically, it was a popular pilgrimage site, and even today, many visitors make the climb to seek blessings. The shrine complex includes various cultural treasures, such as traditional artwork and historical artifacts.
