The sacred area of “Urayama-dera” spreads out deep within Yama-dera Temple. It is a mysterious space where Acala is enshrined in the beehive-shaped rock face and where the footprints of mountain ascetics remain. It is a power spot where history and nature intersect, and where Ennin, the founder of the Buddhist sect, conceived the idea. It is also ideal for meditative hikes.
