Mt. Iide is a famous mountain that straddles the three prefectures of Fukushima, Yamagata, and Niigata, and in autumn, the mountainside is colored by a gradation of autumn leaves that take advantage of the difference in altitude. From the hiking trail, a spectacular view of red, yellow, and orange unfolds, and from the ridge you can see waves of autumn leaves stretching into the distance. The route requires physical strength from climbers, but the sense of accomplishment and excitement is exceptional. This is a mecca for autumn leaves that is recommended for those seeking a quiet mountain trip.
