西暦864年（貞観6年）富士山の側火山長尾山が噴火、古い寄生火山の間を灼熱に焼けた溶岩流が流れ出来た２つのトンネル式になった洞窟。 昭和4年に文部省の天然記念物の指定を受け世界に紹介。地質学的にも貴重。
真夏でも氷が残る天然の冷蔵庫。富士山の地底に広がる、ひんやり冒険空間。
