The setting for the movie “Otoko wa Tsurai yo.” The approach to the shrine is also very charming.
Shibamata Taishakuten, also known for the movie “Otoko wa Tsurai yo,” is a downtown spot that retains the atmosphere of the Showa era. In addition to the main hall with its magnificent carvings, the approach to the temple is lined with kusadango (rice dumplings) and senbei (rice crackers), and the nostalgic aroma fills the air. A stroll along the riverside is also pleasant, making it a relaxing spot to unwind your mind.
