Yushima Tenmangu Shrine enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, known as the god of learning. During exam season, many students visit the shrine to make earnest prayers. It is also popular as a plum blossom viewing spot, and in spring the grounds are enveloped in a gentle fragrance. This is a touching place where history and prayers come together.
